Hello, my name is Victoria Lucenti, and I am majoring in Early Childhood Education, with a concentration in Child and Youth Studies. I am 21 years old and I am currently a lower senior. I was very intrigued while choosing this course for the semester, and I am very excited to learn more and engage with children’s literature/performance!
A fun fact about myself is that I love to go on walks with my favorite pair of beats, and if you couldn’t already tell, I love listening to music while viewing a beautiful greenery scenery outside! I love to go on walks during the Summer as I have more free time within my schedule, but I absolutely love the Fall time as the weather starts to cool down and I can bring my favorite hoodie along with me.
One of my most favorite reading memories is from when I was around 8 years old, while my grandmother and I read “The Wizards of Oz” one rainy afternoon together. While looking back on this memory, I remember how much of a great storyteller my grandmother was, and how intrigued I became throughout the whole story as she made the story sound very spooky, yet so adventurous and mysterious for my little self to listen and read along with. Now that I am older, I personally of course know that this book was not intended to be scary, but as a child, listening to her storytelling honestly inspired me to learn how to both read, and how to read with compassion and expression.
