Hello, everyone!

I am a Children and Youth Studies major. Originally I started as a Finance major but after I started working at a daycare 3 years ago, I realized that I love working with children, so I decided to change my major. This is my last year at Brooklyn College and after I graduate, I plan to go to Touro College for my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Here are some interesting facts about me:

  • I grew up in Ukraine. My mom used to read to me different Ukrainian stories and poems that I loved! I think that is where my love for reading came from. My favorite story was called “Kolobok”. It is somewhat similar to “The Gingerbread Man”. I enjoyed when my mom used to read it to me!
  • After I moved to the United States, I found out about a lot more childhood stories that were very popular here. One of my favorite childhood book from here is “Winnie the Pooh” by A. A. Milne! I just loved reading his stories and I am still a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh!
This is what one of the books looks like that my mom used to read to me. It is made up of different cultural stories for children!
