Hi everyone, the book I chose for my final presentation is Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers. It is a beautiful introduction for young children to our planet and to the idea of being a part of something huge, like humanity. It introduces the galaxy, space, and complex concepts in a simple, approachable way to young children, even newborns! It also presents themes of kindness to our plant itself and to other creatures living on it. The book encourages understanding of diversity and differences between people without going over the top, but with a gentle approach that encourages children to embrace diversity and appreciate the beauty of our shared world.
