Hello, I am Mahnoor, and I am currently a junior at Brooklyn College. My major is Childhood Education (1-6) with a concentration in Children and Youth Studies. I currently work as a tutor helping students with reading skills, so I hope this class helps me become more comfortable with teaching students and becoming a better reader. 

One of my favorite books as a kid was Unique Monique, which a teacher read to me in elementary school. I found the character Monique as being very brave and creative and loved the way she showed out despite not feeling the best in her uniform. I loved and could relate to her character and often would reread the book with my sister.
