I have read Lewis Carroll’s text that originated the character of Alice before. This was actually the first version I have ever read. The story centers on Alice, a little child who falls down a rabbit hole and enters a fantastical and strange world full of odd characters and extraordinary adventures. I am aware of its cultural influence. The tale has been turned into innumerable plays, movies, TV series, and artworks. Carroll’s original work is renowned for its lighthearted use of language and reasoning, which elevates it above the level of a children’s book, to a work of literature valued by adults for its more profound themes. The narrative plays with concepts of identity, reality, and maturing and is full with riddles, inconsistencies, and absurd circumstances.

I have encountered the story of Alice in Wonderland in elementary school. It was in the form of a yearly school play and a movie. I remember it being a story that involved a lot of magical aspects. Alice is bored reading, then she falls through a rabbit hole, where she encounters talking animals, magical potions, and magical characters. I have not read the original story of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

I never read Lewis Carroll’s text. I have encountered Alice before, but I think only in picture books when I was very young. I don’t remember exactly how and when I was introduced to it. I also do not remember a lot from it, only that while Alice walks in the garden, she falls through a hole she finds, and it becomes very small or very big, I’m not sure. In this new world, she meets weird creatures and has many adventures until she is finally able to go back home. A more memorable experience I had with Alice was when the Johnny Depp movie came out.

I have read the Lewis Carroll book and I remember loving it. Before that, I had been familiar with the movie for as long as I can remember, probably being one the first movies I’d ever seen.

First of all, I never realized how old the story is! I’ve only encountered it through Disney and have never read the original text. I remember from the story that Alice goes to a magical place and meets all sorts of wacky characters on her journey. I also didn’t realize it had a sequel.

I do remember encountering Alice in Wonderland from the Disney version. Honestly, I dont remember the entire movie because I had watched it over 13 years ago, but from what I do specifically remember, I remember her going through this sort of magical portal that brought her to another world, with different types of friends and creatures she encountered and made friends with along her journey. I also remember how colorful the graphics were, it brought so much attention to my own focus of the movie as a child, such as her blue dress, how bright blonde her hair was from the movie, and the environments she moved along through in different scenes. Also, I honestly have never read Lewis Caroll’s text that originated the character beforehand. This is honestly a new light that my own knowledge of the character has been brought to now.

I have watched the animated Disney version of “Alice in Wonderland.” I loved watching it and later on, when the movies Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass came out, I watched those too. I love Alice’s story. I remember how she fell down a rabbit hole and then got to this door that she couldn’t open without drinking something to make her small and then she had to eat a cookie to make her bigger. And after she gets to Wonderland, many interesting and weird things happen until she meets the queen. I enjoyed her story but I never read the original version that Lewis Caroll wrote.

I do remember encountering the story Alice in wonderland but I believe it was only the disney version when I was younger. I think it was when I was in elementary school in the auditorium waiting for lunch but I’m not 100 percent sure since it was from a while ago. I remember Alice following a rabbit into a rabbit hole and then she drank potions to change her size. I remember I really liked the story but I dont think I have read Lewis Carroll’s text that originated the character before.

I remember this story from the “Alice in Wonderland” version as well l as children’s book telling of it. I was in elementary school and I enjoyed this story because of all of the unique characters and settings and very majestic factors.

My first active interaction with Alice in Wonderland was also in elementary school! The 4th and 5th graders were part of Drama Club in our afterschool programming. We put on a production that weaved a bunch of “Classics” together through settings such as; Neverland, Wonderland, Land of Toys, and 100 Acre Wood. All the stories were jumbled together due to the friendship of the Cheshire Cat, the 3 Witches of Macbeth, Cruella, and Elphaba in the Cursed Forest.
    – Looking back as an adult, what an amazing concept! It also gave every child at least one part, if not, multiple.

The Alice elements in this play were used in a ‘Wicked Tea Party’ and the Caterpillar as our narrator. The White Rabbit was used as our outro (back to the forest) rather than intro. The talking flowers were included, but I don’t remember for what, even though I was a Marry-Gold (which I found out today, was another invention of our teacher/director!)

This led to me buying Through the Looking Glass in the 6th grade, and DNFing it before page 30. I did not understand any of it, and returned to my trusty Meg Cabot. I picked the book back up again in high school, and put it down again before page 70. Both times were because I could not understand the language, and the illustrations were frightening.

Yes, I do recall the Alice story! Two separate iterations of the Disney animated films Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass have shown it to me twice. Among the odd and funny aspects of the narrative are Alice’s travel to Wonderland, her meetings with oddball people, and her descent down the rabbit hole. Seeing her evolve constantly fascinates me, particularly how her size changes following magical drug consumption. Despite not having read any of Lewis Carroll’s works before, I am aware that The Adventures of Peter Rabbit is a classic English book that stands out for its inventive narrative and deft wordplay.

I’m not really a fan of the Alice and the wonderland. Overall when I did watched the movie I did enjoy the story line and the concept. Alice and the wonderland story line is very different and unique in it’s own way.
